Show Your Support to PRCC
All services at the Portland Recovery Community Center are free of charge. A safe place to go, a kind hello, and a warm cup of coffee can make all the difference to someone who is in the early days of recovery.
To keep our doors open, we rely on the support of generous donations. Even a few dollars can go a long way. This year’s annual appeal is for a very special project and we need your help.
PRCC has grown tremendously in the last several years. This is good news as more and more people are seeking and finding recovery from addiction. PRCC’s membership is now over 4,300 people – people joining recovery community with no fees or financial barriers to recover and volunteer to help others along the way. This past year PRCC was on track for hosting over 50,000 visits through our doors when Covid hit.
PRCC had begun the process of planning for a new home for our thriving recovery community. With Covid-19 limiting ability to gather safely in PRCC’s already cramped space, the dream of a new and larger home has become a pressing need. PRCC’s small hallways and rooms no longer allow for safe access, nor can accommodate groups over ten people. Recovery is all about connection with community. Isolation presents an especially large risk for people struggling with addiction.
Now we must make that dream a reality. PRCC’s initial programming study was completed in early 2020 and estimated that PRCC would need approximately 6,000 – 7,000 square feet to accommodate our current programs and services at PRCC and with extra to grow. We have identified a potential location.
Between now and January 1, 2021 every donation will go toward helping PRCC move into a new space that supports recovery for individuals and their families.
